Being an NJ Wedding Planner I am so excited to be launching Mallory Weiss Planning today and offering new services to past, present, and future clients! Mallory Weiss Planning, located in Monmouth County NJ, services the tri-state area in wedding planning and travel planning. With the launch of my new services I thought it would be the perfect time to share more about myself. Hopefully you will find some things we have in common and maybe a few you would never think about this me!
I married my best friend in June of 2016 right here on the Jersey Shore. My husband and I met while I was in my senior year at Monmouth University and he was starting grad school. When we were planning our wedding I wanted it to be a reflection of us so I wanted to stay near the place we met and the place we live. We chose to do our first look at photos at Monmouth University and then had our ceremony and reception at the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park. It was my favorite day and I still have friends and family talking to me about it! I love being able to connect with my clients as a former bride as their NJ Wedding Planner.

Well at least according to my Masters Degree. This past winter I completed my masters program and graduated with a Masters in Business. It was one of the most stressful times of my life (I also started my business and planned my wedding through it all) but I am so proud of myself for completing it. It was something I wanted to do since I graduated with my bachelors and so happy I made the decision to go back.
When I started MCR Event Planning & Design I wanted to create celebrations for couples they would love. Planning events was always a passion of mine but over the last two years I kept thinking of other ways I could help my clients. It was as I was planning a vacation for my husbands 30th birthday that it hit me, travel planning! In the summer of 2017 I joined Custom Travel Professionals and now can service my clients with even more experiences and celebrations. You can learn more about our travel planning services here.
25 out of 30 to be exact. I have to give my Dad the credit on this one. He planned amazing trips for us that were educational and entertaining, and usually made a stop for a baseball game. I love sports as does my family so for us this was one of the best parts of the trip. To see different stadiums all over the country and taste the foods, meet the fans, and just enjoy the culture. Below are two of the stadiums my husband and I visited on our road trip last summer and the middle photo was obligatory as I am a Met fan!
I still can’t believe I did this but in April of 2013 my best friend and I ran the New Jersey Half Marathon and actually completed it! I say I still can’t believe it because I am no runner. Prior to this I never ran, but my best friend and I loved to walk. So we would walk through our neighborhood then upgraded to trails. We slowly started going longer distances and then incorporated running. Definitely takes hard work and patience but the feeling of crossing that finish line after 13.1 miles was amazing.
I’m sure most of you can relate to this but I love wine. But more than that I love visiting wineries and just sitting outside with a nice glass of Cabernet and doing nothing. On the last leg of our honeymoon my husband and I spent two days in Napa and it was nothing short of spectacular.
So I may be a little obsessed with the Kennedy family and all their trials and tribulations. I’m not sure where it started, maybe because they were considered American royalty and I love anything royal! I love reading anything about the Kennedy family and just find their story fascinating. I even made my Dad drive past the Kennedy compound in West Palm Beach Florida (there was not much to see). But my greatest achievement was this lamp which we won at an auction and was once owned by the Kennedy’s.
I don’t have much time for television these days but its is one of my favorite ways to unwind. My favorites right now are This is Us, Riverdale, Scandal, and Designated Survivor.
It was a home away from home for my family as a kid. We would go there at least once a year growing up and it was such a magical place for us. So many of my memories are from there and now I am lucky to share that with my husband. If you have never been to Disney I encourage you to go, its a place for all ages and I promise you will have fun. You can find my top reasons for staying on Walt Disney World property here!
I saved this one for last because it’s true, bread is life. Kaiser, onion rolls, Italian twist…they are all delicious. I judge restaurants based the goodness of their bread baskets. For my wedding I took this a step further and had a bread bar built. Guests were able to choose from a variety of breads to enjoy throughout the night, everyone loved it!
